The Tango: Korra

It was a quick pencil sketch in my sketchpad and it ended up as... this. Actually, first it was a fanfiction, which can be found here: [link]

And yes, the title is in full reference to the song from RENT, "The Tango: Maureen".

It's just a speedpaint. I mean, the background is so shitty. I did that in like, ten minutes, fully expecting that no-one would bother to look too closely, so please don't judge me based on that.

So... you can fiddle around with colour balances! Who knew? I'm utter bollocks at choosing colours, so it was a godsend, I swear. Now I will hopefully no longer ruin my digital paintings by putting more effort into them like I usually do.

Korra's shoes are designed by Chrissie Morris and retail for about $1300, and her dress is loosely based off of several Alexander McQueen dresses, so you can just imagine how much THAT would cost. *shudders* Mako's clothes are stolen from formal Regency-era clothes that I Googled at the last minute. But seriously, who else can totally picture Mako being the girl whenever they go out somewhere? Korra picks out her clothes in, like, three minutes, and she keeps yelling through the bathroom door, "MAKO, HONEY, YOU'RE PLENTY PRETTY, SO JUST GET THE FUCK OUT HERE BECAUSE WE WERE SUPPOSED TO LEAVE HALF AN HOUR AGO. IT DOES NOT TAKE THAT LONG TO GET DONE UP, YANNO."
